Literature review: Sustainable leadership

Employees, leaders, and organizations continue to struggle to comprehend the concept of sustainable leadership. It is a problem for today's organizations to identify this concept itself. Sustainable leadership refers to a new and enlarged concept of leadership that is based on sustainability principles, sustainable leadership practices, and building an inclusive, cooperative, and responsive leadership approach.

Determining the success factors of settlements based on the experience of village- research

The settlements are value-carriers. Of course not every valuable condition is a key of the success. The objective of this study is to survey the general success factors of settlements. The settlements as autonomies due to their far-reaching role-system possess means of different characteristics, which can strengthen or even weaken each other’s effects. One part of the instruments used by the settlements are unique, whereas other instrument work alike everywhere.

The sustainability concerns determining the development course of urban transport

In connection with the preparations for strategic decisions regarding the development of local living spaces, the factors affecting quality of life and liveability are becoming more and more emphasized, in addition to their immediate expression, examination of their long-term effects is becoming more and more inevitable, as well (see the social intensification of the issue of climate change). Consequently, life and functioning of cities are fundamentally determined by transport, i.e. by the available means of travelling.

The examination of social capital in Hungarian rural communities: the case of Bátya village

The term ‘social capital’ was first used in the international literature in the beginning of the 20th century by Lyda Judson Hanifan, but it became widely known only in the 1990s and there is still no consensus on how to measure it. In the beginning of the paper a short review can be found concerning the different approaches, definitions and functions of social capital. Then an example for measuring method is presented through a Hungarian case study. In this part, some fundamental social characteristics of the population of Bátya village are examined.

Multiculturalism as a socio-cultural component of the sustainable development in Nigeria

The concept of sustainable development has no longer been defined from a strictly environmental perspective for quite a few years now. The scope of the problem has been enlarged to include its social dimensions, leading notably to a renewed focus on the topic of national social and cultural diversity.
