public transport

Theoretical optimization of tram availibility for daily schedules (role of public transport and trams in Budapest)

The demand for change of location could be emphasised of all the factors of urban development, as it constantly exists in societies even if for different purposes. Mobilisation provides the background of the engine that operates the economy and the society, its role is to realise the movement of persons, goods and services. The key driver of the urbanization, emerging due to the geographic concentration and coordination of economic and social activities, is the changes in the transport system.

Operating urban public transport rail infrastructure and vehicles over planned life cycle and its economic aspects within the company

If you accept the principle that a tangible asset can be operated as long as it is considered usable, operating conditions must be evaluated at the end of its life expectancy. Of course, life expectancy is different when we run a light bulb or an airplane therefore we will need some risk assessment and a science based continued operation protocol (SCOP). The idea of developing a SCOP came from BKV Zrt. and it was formed by 2012, with expertise help. SCOP is a model that keeps growing and requires fine tuning but the fact that BKV Zrt applies it on a daily basis, proves its success.

The sustainability concerns determining the development course of urban transport

In connection with the preparations for strategic decisions regarding the development of local living spaces, the factors affecting quality of life and liveability are becoming more and more emphasized, in addition to their immediate expression, examination of their long-term effects is becoming more and more inevitable, as well (see the social intensification of the issue of climate change). Consequently, life and functioning of cities are fundamentally determined by transport, i.e. by the available means of travelling.
