The main question of this study is the present and future challenges that influence Taiwan’s development and competitiveness. From among these traits the issue of the high exposition (especially in terms of FDI) and growing dependence on mainland China (the People’s Republic of China), the need for a shift in terms of the main drivers of the future economic development and to mitigate the risks of brain drain and social unrest.

Napjainkban (és nem csak hazánkban) egyre több területfejlesztési tanulmányban, gazdaságfejlesztési stratégiában kap meghatározó szerepet az idegenforgalomra, a belföldi turizmus különböző típusaira épülő fejlesztési irány. Úgy gondolom, hogy a turizmus az endogén források vizsgálatán keresztül egy-egy térség kiegészítő húzó ágazatává válhat, közvetve és közvetlenül jövőképet teremtve az ott élők számára.

Hazánk turizmusa területi tervezés és forrás szempontjából az EU programozás során a Széchenyi Terv alkalmával kapott jelentőséget. A felhasználható források köre a Nemzeti Fejlesztési Terv (NFT I.), az Új Magyarország Fejlesztési Terv (ÚMFT), az Új Magyarország Vidékfejlesztési Program (ÚMVP), Új Széchenyi Terv (ÚSZT), és a 2005-ben elkészült Nemzeti Turizmusfejlesztési Stratégia (NTS) megvalósítása során bővült. Ezen stratégiákon túl a Nemzeti Fejlesztési Koncepció 2014-2024 közötti időszakra megfogalmazza a turizmus nemzetgazdasági ághoz kapcsolódó legfontosabb fejlesztési területeket.

In this study, I am going to compare the current innovation performance of the European Union with that of its competitors and give guidance on how to promote the flow of knowledge in Europe thereby enhancing the efficiency of the R&D sector. These processes might be solutions to recover from the economic crisis and make progress in the 21st century.
